After obtaining a French and Spanish degree from UCL, Clara went on to study law. She was called to the English Bar in 1999 and was admitted as an English solicitor in 2003.
Prior to joining Baker & Partners, Clara practised as a solicitor in the Regulatory and Investigations Group at a firm in the UK. Her work there involved defending clients in criminal investigations and prosecutions brought by the Police, the Serious Fraud Office, HM Revenue & Customs, the Financial Services Authority and the Department of Trade and Industry.
Clara joined Baker & Partners after returning to Jersey in June 2007.
Clara now undertakes a range of criminal and international cases, including both defence work and instructions on behalf of the Attorney General. Recently she has worked with Stephen Baker, acting for the Defendant in Curtis Warren & Ors v HM Attorney General of Jersey  UKPC10 and taking the case to the Privy Council.
She has also been involved in investigations into suspected corrupt payments to foreign politicians made through the Island, civil fraud, confiscation proceedings, and regulatory investigations.
