The purpose of this guide is to set out the various types of trust dispute which can come before the Jersey Courts. Not all legal proceedings commenced before the Royal Court are hostile proceedings in which the trustee is being sued or criticised for fault. The vast majority of trust proceedings in Jersey are commenced by trustees, seeking guidance from the Court in its supervisory capacity in which there is no suggestion of criticism of the trustee.
