Cayman Islands

Our Cayman Islands office regularly works on some of the most complex and high-value disputes in the jurisdiction, acting for foreign governments, NGOs, multinational corporations and ultra-high net worth individuals.

Throughout the year the team the team acted in several notable cases including the first regulator-led extrajudicial liquidation in the Cayman Islands which is said to be the largest banking corruption and fraud scandal in Brazilian history, as well as acting in a highly contentious dispute concerning the control, ownership and ultimate distribution of multi-million dollar charitable assets held within a complex international structure of a charitable foundation.

BVI

Our British Virgin Islands team provides efficient and cost-effective legal disputes and litigation advice to our clients. Services include insolvency, commercial litigation, asset recovery, Web 3 and digital assets disputes and trust disputes.

During the year the team advised liquidators in their asset recovery efforts against Carlos Ghosn (the former CEO of Nissan) and dealing with a $70M fraud dispute covering USA, Cayman, Switzerland and UK, where the BVI is the main asset holding centre and interim receivers have been appointed.
