Adam Crane welcomed as Fellow by INSOL International at INSOL Hong Kong 2025

Baker & Partners is pleased to announce Cayman Islands Partner, Adam Crane, has been welcomed by INSOL International as an INSOL Fellow having completed the rigorous Global Insolvency Practice Course (GIPC).

INSOL International will be hosting their annual conference in Hong Kong in March which will bring together the world’s insolvency and restructuring community for three days of technical updates and networking. INSOL Fellows are a globally connected group of respected professionals, working together to elevate the insolvency profession to provide the best possible solutions and outcomes for cross-border, advancing restructuring and insolvency issues.

Adam has significant experience in supporting clients with their complex, cross-border insolvency and restructuring matters. He acts as an integral Partner for the Baker & Partners team in supporting the ongoing recovery of misappropriated assets in the offshore and certain onshore jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Channel Islands, Hong Kong, and Singapore in relation to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fraud.

Adam also led the team who acted for the petitioning creditors who were retail Investors of Atom Asset Exchange (“AAX”) in the first winding up in the Cayman Islands related to a cryptocurrency exchange.

Adam is a recognised expert in cross-border insolvency and restructuring matters. His recognition as an INSOL Fellow adds to his recent accolades from leading industry publications, such as Lexology Legal and Global Restructuring Review.

In order to become an INSOL Fellow Adam had to complete a postgraduate certification programme, involving a series of lectures, various case studies, a short paper, an oral examination, and an intensive 9-day cross-border restructuring simulation. The GIPC programme focuses on the concepts of reorganisation, work-out, insolvency, winding-up, bankruptcy and the means by which the problems of multi-national companies in financial difficulty can be addressed, including approaches to preventing liquidation and insolvency.

Adam who was one of 25 practitioners globally admitted as an INSOL Fellow this year, commented:
