Leading offshore law firm Baker & Partners has welcomed Senior Associate Vicky Olivier in Jersey. Vicky relocated to the Channel Islands in 2022 and brings her multi-jurisdictional complex trusts, civil and commercial disputes expertise to the team.

Vicky joins Baker & Partners following several years with Babbé LLP in Guernsey. At Babbé Vicky was a Senior Associate in their Disputes & Risk team specialising in commercial disputes

As an Advocate of the High Court in South Africa and barrister in England and Wales with Lincoln’s Inn (currently non practicing), she has more than a decade’s experience in high value commercial and civil disputes acting for corporations, individuals, and as an internationally qualified mediator and arbitrator.

Vicky has established herself as a results-driven, client focused lawyer, closely working with law firms and counsel both in the UK and internationally. She often acts on behalf of protectors, trustees, and beneficiaries in complex multi-jurisdictional international trust litigation, involving trust restructuring, allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and mismanagement and various other administrative actions.
Vicky’s appointment to Baker & Partners follows the firms expanded premises in Jersey earlier this year to accommodate the firm’s growth plans, and the appointment of Associate Georgina Farley in June who joined the team from the Law Officer’s Department. Georgina will assist with the firm’s established practice acting for the prosecution and the defence in matters of serious crime.

Managing Partner, Stephen Baker commented: “Vicky and Georgina’s appointments are as a result of our steady growth in multi-jurisdictional dispute caseload including complex trusts and commercial and civil litigation. I am delighted that the team continues to develop to meet our client’s increasing needs.”

Vicky added “Jersey continues to evolve and lead in the financial and legal services landscape and I’m delighted to have joined such a dynamic firm who are focused on continued multi-jurisdictional growth to meet their client’s needs. I look forward to contributing meaningfully to the firm’s continued success and advancing my career in an environment that values growth, collaboration, and impact.”

For over 20 years, Baker & Partners has been at the forefront of some of the most complex and high value offshore commercial and trust litigation. Baker & Partners is unique among offshore law firms in being led by a partnership of very experienced courtroom advocates who have between them conducted a very large number of trials in England, Jersey, the Cayman Islands and the BVI.
