Eltin Ryle

Eltin Ryle is an Irish lawyer who specialises in complex dispute resolution and regulatory matters.

Eltin previously worked with the market-leading practices at Matheson LLP and at Byrne Wallace Shields LLP, respectively. Eltin acted in a significant number of high-value commercial law matters, including the multi-billion Euro Russian Aircraft Litigation Case before the Commercial Division of the High Court of Ireland. Eltin also acted for an Irish State-body in two landmark constitutional law cases before a seven-member panel of the Supreme Court of Ireland.

In addition to dispute resolution, Eltin has significant experience in contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters. On the defence side, Eltin has advised a significant number of leading S&P 500 listed companies in relation to regulatory enforcement matters. On the enforcement side, Eltin advised on the first-of-its-kind regulatory investigation against a multinational accountancy firm for breach of the EU Statutory Audit Regulations. Eltin has also acted as a Legal Assessor for an Accountancy Regulatory Body.

Eltin regularly advises senior management / board level professionals at multinational companies and is, himself, a former member of the board of the National Disability Authority of Ireland, appointed by the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

In July 2024, Eltin moved to the British Virgin Islands, joining Harneys LLP, the island’s largest litigation practice. Eltin represented clients in $700M+ commercial disputes before the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court as well as advising fiduciary services firms in relation to regulatory enforcement matters. Eltin has successfully obtained, and successfully defended against, urgent injunctive relief before the BVI Courts.

Eltin is a published academic author and a former Editor-in-Chief of the Hibernian Law Journal. Eltin lectured for several years on the Civil Litigation module for PPC-1 at the Law Society of Ireland.

A keen endurance triathlete, Eltin has completed Ironman 140.6 distance events in support of several Irish charities.

Eltin joined Baker & Partners as Counsel in April 2026.
